This week we looked at various parts of the Australian medical system and how they are able to deliver services.
Our first stop was to the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia. The goal of this group is to be able to fly, in a medical emergency, to the most remote parts of the Outback. This base was located in Port Augusta and was pretty amazing.
The next stop was to our own Peterborough Fire and EMS. The all volunteer force was made up of many of our host families and was an interesting insight into medical delivery in very rural and underserved areas.
Then things got out of control as we practiced brush fire extermination techniques. LOL
